River Bend board to consider mental health agreement

Clinton Herald - 9/17/2018

Sept. 16--FULTON, Ill. -- A Monday board meeting is set to approve a new agreement for mental health support in the River Bend School District.

Board members will see a "Memorandum of Understanding between the Morrison Community Hospital and River Bend Board of Education to provide on-site Mental Health Services at the schools," according to a board agenda provided by the district.

"This will allow River Bend Schools to provide mental health support for students who are currently being seen through the Morrison Hospital Clinic," the agenda reads. "This will also allow students and families an opportunity to begin working with Morrison Hospital Staff through their insurance at each of the schools. The schools will provide a meeting space for the social worker and the student."

Minor policy changes are set to be approved by the board as well, according to the agenda, specifically regarding employee spouses.

Board members Monday will vote to approve a change to the Employee Activity Pass which would allow the employee's spouse to attend functions in any of the schools in the district at no charge, according to the agenda.

"The Activity Pass currently states that the Employee's Spouse may only attend activities at no charge at events that occur in the employee's building," it states. "The change would allow the spouse to attend all district activities at any building at no charge."

Finally, the board is set to approve donations from various entities. The first is a gift from the Athletic Boosters in the amount of $2,799 for the Huddle Sideline, as well as a $3,750 gift for the district's "Krossover" program. Next, board members may accept a gift from the Friends for Charity in the amount of $1,000 for milk.
